By the light of the harvest moon...well not quite

Last night I finally was able to get out and plant the tulip bed. The last of the holes were dug in the dark so not sure what it is going to look like in the spring...our neighbors now probably are thinking I am possessed with some crazy gardening bug...I was out with power tools, shovels, wheelbarrow, and all the kids were helping dig. I popped in the last of the bulbs by the light of the street lamps...and headlights of passing cars, with drivers staring at me in wonder....wondering I'm sure what the heck I'm up to.

The soil was very packed and soggy after a week of rain and there seemed to be more rocks than dirt in some places but I hope I got them deep enough for them to grow...now we wait.

There's lots of great sales in the newest Avon campaign, check it out!

FREE lip balm with any order!

As an incentive to place your first order this week (due by 12:00 PM CST on 10/08/08) I am offering a FREE lip balm for any sized order placed. Just log onto my store and don't forget to use the FREE shipping code SHIP3 to have items delivered right to your door.

As I am sure you all know by now, Avon is a huge supporter of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. In addition to offering a variety of "pink ribbon products" such as this Breast Cancer Lip Balm with SPF 15 ($1.50, with all profits donated to the Avon Breast Cancer Crusade), the company sponsors several walks to raise money for breast cancer research and prevention. If you are wondering what you can do to help, this lip balm is an affordable way to make a contribution.
*I just found out yesterday that Christina Applegate (aka Kelly Bundy on Married with Children) just underwent a double masectomy in July. She told her story on Oprah. She is only 36 - just a tad younger than me. My prayers are with her and all women that face this.

I became a MOMMY!!! :)

Today, is my firstborns 17th birthday! I can remember that day like it just happened...even though I can barely remember what I just ate for breakfast. I remember the hour long ride to the hospital in the ambulance and watching the sunrise and my Mom being right there by my side seemly taking every bit of the pain and anxiety onto her own shoulders to the point where I had to reassure her "Mom, I'm doing OK" even though the doctor wouldn't give me anything because Cody was coming fast. I arrived at the hospital around 7 (I remember it was at shift change because there were nurses everywhere) It went very fast but my Mom was there feeding me ice chips and I did my Lamaze breathing so well that it was my Mom that I had to tell to breathe. Cody was born at 10:12 am...with the umbilical cord wrapped 7 times around his neck! He was a very healthy 7lbs 11ozs...but I didn't have any "water break" as seen on tv...which I thought was weird and when I got to take a good look at him later when they'd cleaned him up, his skin was dry and flaky like a fish. He never cried and has always been such a good boy, loving and kindhearted. Never fussy and has always been very mature for his age.

Even as a small boy, he was my "protector" keeping watch over me. When we would cross the street, he was the one that would always check and triple check and then say "Ok, its safe to go now Mom" He'd get fightin mad if anyone made a rude comment to me or about me in public. He has a very sensitive nature and always makes me the sweetest cards and gifts. He has a heart of pure gold! He's always been my sweetie! So today, as I reflect back on the past 17 years, it is with wonder and amazement that God has blessed me with such an incredible child to call my son.

My other addiction....

As everyone that reads this blog knows, I love coffee and I love chocolate...what you may not know is I also love to shop. In an effort to stabalize my shopping cravings I am becoming a personal shopping assistant...I have become an Independent Avon Representative! Now in addition to my own shopping, I can help others to shop too :)

I am in training right now so bear with me. Ask me anything, if I don't have an answer right away I will find it out as quickly as possible.

My store link is here. Please check it out when you get a chance, and let me know what you think. Avon has some great new products and the brochures now feature scratch and sniff pages! So if you are interested in getting on a mailing list to have brochures delivered to your home please let me know. Its easy to shop online and the products will be delivered right to your door...saving you from having to drive to the store for more expensive retail brands. I don't know about you but I like to make shopping for personal care products as simple as possible. I've always loved Avon products and they seem to be just getting better and more diverse every day. Check it out!
